September 11, 2003 - Curbside Scrap Tire Pick-up Schedule

September 22nd - 7 am - 3 pm      1st Ward
September 23rd - 7 am - 3 pm       2nd Ward
September 24th - 7 am - 3 pm        3rd Ward
September 25th - 7 am - 3 pm        4th Ward

September 26th - There will be a special pick-up of any tires that may have been missed.

There will be a limit of (4) tires per household, no rims will be picked up.

September 11, 2003 - Launch of Service Ceremony of the Niles-Trumbull Transit System, a publicly available demand-responsive bus service designed to service the mobility and transportation access needs of transit-reliant citizens of Trumbull County, Ohio. This ceremony will take place on Monday, September 15, 2003 at 10 AM, at the SCOPE Senior Citizens Center (14 East State St., Niles, OH, 44446). The public is encouraged to attend. This service is made possible by the Mayor of the City of Niles, Ohio, The Honorable Ralph A. Infante in co-operation with the Trumbull County Board of Commissioners, James G. Tsagaris (President), Michael J. O'Brien, and Joseph A. Angelo, and the Trumbull County communities of Howland Township, Liberty Township, Vienna Township, Weathersfield Township, The City of Corland, and the Village of McDonald.

- Due to the mass power outage throughout a large area of the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada, the mayor is asking that all Niles citizens try to conserve power by only using necessary appliances and electrical equipment. If possible please keep air conditioning usage to a minimum.

August 15, 2003 - Disaster Recovery Center Opens in Warren, Trumbull County. Trumbull County citizens who suffered flood damage may receive information on various flood cleanup and recovery issues. Victims must first register with FEMA first by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or for the speech or hearing impaired, 1-800-462-7585, 8 AM - 6 PM, seven days a week. The Recovery Center is located at 418 Main Ave. S.W. in Warren (near Warren Flea Market), and is open 10 AM-6 PM, Monday-Saturday. For more information, please see nilesema.com/disasterinfo.
