The present Niles Fire Department is no longer a volunteer department, but has 2 stations with 31 full time fire fighters, with its main station on East State Street. Its rescue equipment and vehicles inlcude 3 pumpers, 2 aerials, a boat with trailer, a special response trailer, and 2 utility vehicles.
