September 1, 2006 Advertise date General Description of Services The City of Niles is requesting Letters of Interest (LoI’s) and Qualifications from Architectural Design Firms for Design for construction a new Wellness Center consisting of a single floor plan constructed within a pre-engineered metal building containing approximately 70,600 gross square feet. The structure will include a soccer field, running/walking track, basketball court, bocce court, batting cages, weight training area, aerobics area, conference room, managers office, snack bar, public restrooms, and entry lobby. The building will be located in Waddell Park adjacent to the Niles Municipal Pool complex. Required Qualification Combination of Prime Consultant and all Subconsultants: Architects and Design Professionals licensed in Ohio with experience in Recreational and Wellness related facilities and including but not limited to: 1. Preparation of construction plans and specifications Construction Administration and Inspection Services will be advertised separately and will not be included as part of this request for services. The successful design firm will not be eligible for Construction Administration and Inspection services consideration. The successful firm must adapt an existing “Wellness Center Feasibility and Planning Study” containing a preliminary design and construction budget as approved by Niles City Council. The study is available on the City of Niles website at wellnesscenter.thecityofniles.com and is also on file at the Mayor’s Office. Completion Schedule It is anticipated that the selected Consultant will be authorized to proceed by October 2, 2006. The design is to be completed by December 22, 2006. Communications Restrictions All questions and comments regarding this project shall be submitted in writing by telefax or e-mail to Mark Hess as noted below. Contact: Mark Hess, Project Coordinator, City of Niles Selection Procedures The City of Niles will evaluate the LoI’s and intends to “short list” a limited number of respondents and request Technical Proposals from these firms. Interviews with short listed firms are also optional. Firms interested in being considered for selection should respond by submitting three (3) copies of the Letter of Interest and qualifications to the Office of the Mayor, 34 W. State Street, Niles, Ohio 44446, by 4:30 PM Friday, September 15, 2006. Responses received after the close of business on the specified due date will not be considered. Printable Documents...
