Department Responsibilities:
The resposibilities of the Building & Zoning Department include management of all zoning issues throughout the city, including assigning new zoning labels to areas, or rezoning other areas to better serve the people of Niles. They also issue various land and building permits to commercial, industrial, and residential groups and individuals upon request. Lastly, the zoning department has the job of enforcing zoning laws and building ordinances within the City of Niles.
