Niles Parks and Recreation 2023 Hometown Hero Banner Program

   The City of Niles Parks and Recreation Department Hometown Banner Program is now in its second year after being created as a tribute to honor and recognize our current and past residents of Niles who are currently serving or have previously served in our country’s military forces.

   Each banner will honor one veteran or someone currently serving in the military. The banner measures 30” x 60” and is double sided. The banner will include picture, name and branch of service, and the name of the sponsor. Each banner will be displayed on a light post at specific
locations throughout the city. The banners will be displayed from Memorial Day 2023 through Veterans Day 2023. The banners will be able to be picked up by the sponsor after Veterans Day 2023 at the Wellness Center.

   There are approximately 120 spaces available. The first 120 fully completed, paid applications received will be placed in 2023. The fee for 2023 is $125.00.

   Please submit the following by February 28, 2023.
         1.     Completed Application form.

         2.     Payment of $125.00 – checks payable to the: City of Niles.

         3.     Mailed to; or dropped off at:
                 Niles Wellness Center
                 213 Sharkey Drive
                 Niles, Ohio 44446

         4.     High Resolution photo (all copies will be available for pick up after the banner is made)

   The Niles Parks and Recreation Department is not responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged or destroyed due to age, vandalism, or any acts of nature including high winds.

   Applications can be picked up at the Niles Wellness Center and Veterans establishments throughout
the city.

  City of Niles (City) is accepting letters of intent from potential candidates for appointment of a New Council Member for the City of Niles at large position. The letter shall contain the applicants name, address of their residence in the City of Niles, and a request to be considered for the at large position. All letters of intent must be received, hard copy, by the Clerk of Council, 34 West State Street, Niles, Oho 44446 no later than August 12, 2022, at 3:45 p.m.
